Kennel Club - A great start towards Pearl's Championship!
Akamute Perle
de L'Ocean WTD WSD went BOB both days and a nice GROUP 3 win
in a tough group! Pearl also got some very nice comments from the judges
and exhibitors!!

Pearl
and Zouk
just finished 12 weeks of obedience classes. I'm proud to say both
are doing very well and we hope to get them in the obedience ring later
this year. To top it off, during our final evaluations, Pearl scored
'High In Class' over a large entry of dogs from combined classes!! We
are looking forward to Pearl and Zouk's performance in obedience ring!

We had
fun last weekend at the West. Springfield, MA, USA shows. At the Ct.
Working Specialty, Koal took Reserve Winners to a 4pt major on
Saturday.. it was nice to see no snow and warmer temps.. Back to
reality.. snow, freezing rain and cold temperatures! :)

Spring
has not yet arrived! We are still dealing with lots of storm and snow
accumulations!! Dogs are still enjoying their harness runs on the sled
as well as the cold weather.. just a few pictures over the last few
weeks.

Lots of
news...
A snow storm followed by
an ice storm hit the Island on January 28, 2008. We lost power for most
of the week!! Finally, we got electricity on Thursday evening. Lots of damaged trees
and downed powerlines across the Island.

of the scenery...
We
received some great news from OFA today. Although most of the dogs had
been OVC'd clear or prelimed clear, we decide to send hip and elbow
x-rays to OFA to participate in the U.S health database. Koal, Zouk,
Naome, Aero and Pearl (OFA-prelim) as we expected, received 'good'
ratings on their hips and normal rating for elbows!

our sledding runs! |

Exciting news from Estonia!!
'Sharky' Ltu JW'07, Est & Ltu JCh. Akamute's Over The Ocean is
officially # 4 Alaskan Malamute and # 2 Junior Malamute in Estonia for
2007!! Congratulations to his owner/handler Elen Han of
Cheyas Alaskan Malamutes. |

We have
a new layout to our website! It's taken a while to design.
I believe it will be much more user friendly! More news.. during the
last few weeks the dogs have been working hard on the trails and I'm
pleased to announce that Zouk and Pearl have finished their requirements
for their WTD and WSD with some 10 and 15 mile runs!! (Pending AMCA and
AMHL) The fall training pays off as they were very consistent in their
runs and had great endurance throughout. The weather has been extremely
cold, however, it is calling for some mild weather this week.. hopefully
it won't melt all our snow! Various pictures of sledding outings, etc to
be up soon!! |

Happy New Year!!! All the best for 2008.
We wanted snow... we got snow!! Too much of it!!
Fourth snowstorm this week!! Over 80 cm of snow fell and it's not over
yet!!! Took
videos of the dogs playing in the snow
and added
new pictures on the daily activities
