A few new pictures and two videos added to our website.

We have some sad news to report. On Thursday, December 13, 2007, we lost one of our own. At age 10 1/2, "Kamee" Ch. Akamute Etoile De L'Acadie WTD WPD crossed the rainbow bridge.  We had noticed changes in her eating habits in the last few weeks and unfortunetly, gastric torsion took Kamee from us Thursday afternoon. She was rushed to the vet, however, they were unable to save her. 

Kamee was the first born from our first litter. She became our second homebred champion and our first multiple group placer. Kamee's first and only time in the USA, she won a large open class two days in a row and went on to win reserve winners to a 5 pt major. That same day, she also won Best Veteran in Sweepstakes.

She loved her walks and spending time with us. Although harness work wasn't her favorite, she finished her working titles with ease. However, she preferred to spend her time as the "queen" and the alpha of the pack, relaxing on her own couch with her favorite collection of toys.

Godspeed my beautiful girl... I know you are wearing your silver harness with pride...
 

Puppies have started to leave for their new homes this weekend. They've all gone to wonderful, loving families. We've decided to keep one little angel.. see her new page... her name is Fergi !

New pictures are added in the sledding/carting page.. also included are fun pictures of the dogs running in the fields while taking a break. There was also a video added last week (see videos).. I simply forgot to update this page :)

The dogs' individual pages have a new layout!! Hopefully it will make navigation easier ... since some files were very large and taking up too much space... :)

Sharky (Est & Lt JCh, Lt JW'07 Akamute's Over The Ocean) is now an Estonian and Lithuanian Junior Champion. Congratulations to owner/handler Elen Han!!

One album was added to the Sledding/Carting 2007 page. Weather has been extremely good to the dogs (not so much to us.. where is the beach weather??). The good news is that it's much easier to keep the dogs in tip top shape by running them in harness. These pictures were taken a few days ago.. Koal and Pearl enjoying a sunny but windy run.

Kamee (Ch. Akamute Etoile De L'Acadie WTD WPD) celebrates her 10th birthday (one day early) at the cottage!! I've added one album of her enjoying the beach and one of Xera who spent her day Saturday enjoying the water! The two QUEENS residing at Akamute... and don't they know it too!!

Exciting News!! Koal's first weekend out since finishing his championship as a puppy!! First show (Abegweit Kennel Club) ....  Koal wins Breed, goes on to a group FIRST and ....

BEST IN SHOW!!!!!!!

We are thrilled... All wins were breeder/owner/handled!!! During this four all breed show weekend, Koal finshed off  with a group Second and Two Group Fourth!!!! What a come back!!!!!

News from Elen Han in Estonia! Sharky - Akamute's Over The Ocean received his first title. He was best junior male
an International Show in Lithuania and is now Lithuanian Junior Winner'07 :)
